I trained as an advertising copywriter - and worked as one for about a year. I was working for an ad agency in late 1994 when I won a web design competition.

Soon after, I was working full-time in the web business - from 8-5 for a medical internet company and pretty much all the other hours of the clock for anyone else.
I have taught 'Direct Response Advertising' at the Queensland University of Technology, been a marketing consultant, freelance designer, ceramicist, product designer and strategist for web companies including those in medical, 'search', beverage, travel, entertainment and manufacturing industries.

I have a full-time job, family and a desire to paint.  As a result I only take on freelance design work when I find the product and people inspiring, interesting, and full of potential.  It's good to be in a position to be choosy.
